Rs 17 lakh, jewellery looted in Yamuna Vihar
Eight armed men robbed a businessman and his family of cash and jewellery worth Rs.2 million at gunpoint inn Yamuna Vihar, the police said Thursday.
The robbers struck around 8.45 p.m. Wednesday in Yamuna Vihar area of north-east Delhi.
A family was robbed at gunpoint at their Yamuna Vihar home on Wednesday night. Scrap dealer Dilshad was at home with his father, wife and three-month-old daughter when three people knocked on the door around 8.45 pm. “They forced themselves in and demanded we hand over all our belongings at gunpoint. Two more joined them and took away 65 tolas of jewellery and Rs 17 lakh in cash,” said Dilshad. He called the police immediately.
A case has been registered and a search has been launched to nab the culprits, the police said.
